Apple Competitors are Missing the Point – via @MattRichman

Apple’s competitors are beginning to realize that the battle of mobile computing has nothing to do with processor speeds, gigabytes of RAM, or being “open.” 

It’s actually a battle of ecosystems, platforms, and, user experiences, says Matt Richman in his blog

Even if Microsoft, Nokia and Google also have a music, app and map service, that make them competitive. Because they miss the common denomiator, the ID.

Apple ID is used for instance to: 

  • download apps, songs, movies, books 
  • setup your mac
  • facetime
  • find a lost iOS device
The Apple ID is an important part of Apple's secret sauce 😉
